Not eating breakfast. Many people say that they don't feel like eating in the morning. And they don't. According to scientists, such a habit can be harmful to the brain. When a person doesn't eat in the morning, their brain doesn't receive valuable nutrients at the beginning of the day. Deficiency of vitamins and other nutrients weakens its functions.
Smoking. The habit of smoking significantly increases the risk of developing dementia (acquired dementia) or Alzheimer's disease. At the same time, the more a person smokes, the higher the risk that his brain may suffer due to the development of neurodegenerative processes. Tobacco consumption negatively affects blood vessels, which leads to poor blood supply to the brain. People who smoke from half to one pack a day have a 37 percent increased risk of developing dementia, and those who smoke more than one pack a day have a 44 percent risk of this disease.
Worrying. Poor stress tolerance is detrimental to the brain, and the habit of worrying violently about every occasion must be fought. Severe stress increases the risk of mental disorders in the future – under its influence, some areas of the brain begin to collapse. According to scientists, one of the most effective measures to combat stress is sports.
Eat sweets. Regular consumption of sweets in large quantities has the same negative effect on the brain as constant stress. Increased sugar consumption contributes to the development of type 2 diabetes, which in turn is a factor that increases the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. Against the background of diabetes, the level of inflammation increases, which is very harmful to brain cells.
