8 most useful food combinations

Almost all foods have a certain set of nutrients, but getting them is not so easy. Some trace elements and vitamins are transformed so quickly that the body simply does not have time to use them. In order not to lose the valuable properties of food, combine it with ideal “partners”: it is not only tasty, but also very good for health.

1. Sweet peppers and legumes – a source of iron and vitamin C Stuffed peppers: beans, quinoa and parsley

100 g of sweet bell pepper contains 250 mg of ascorbic acid, so it will be useful to prepare a stew or salad with these ingredients. Such a “couple” will be especially useful for vegans and vegetarians.

2. Tomatoes and broccoli against cancer

Baked broccoli and tomatoes

There are a huge number of recipes where tomatoes are harmoniously combined with broccoli. Add them to your diet, as these products have good antitumor properties. Scientists confirmed this during an experiment on rats with cancer.

In animals that ate only tomatoes or broccoli, tumors were reduced by 34% and 42%, respectively. Rats that were given both foods at the same time improved their performance by 52%. Why are there rodents, you ask? The fact is that our DNAs are very close, and what is good for tailed dogs, most often does not harm humans.

Dairy products are all good, as long as they do not contain all kinds of additives – fruit fillers and etc. If there is lactose intolerance, milk should be consumed with green tea or replaced with fermented milk products.

3. Whole grains and onions are sources of iron and zinc

Legumes and cereals

Whole grains (rice, buckwheat, oatmeal, corn, wheat) contain a lot of iron and zinc, but these substances are poorly absorbed by the body. Onions or garlic, which are rich in sulfur, can help them stay and do their healing work. It is noteworthy that these products interact perfectly both in raw and cooked form.

4. Tomatoes and olive oil for stroke prevention

Olive oil and tomatoes are the basis of the Mediterranean diet, known for its positive effect on the heart and brain. Olive oil contains a large amount of oleic acid, which significantly reduces the level of harmful cholesterol, which clogs blood vessels and provokes stroke. In combination with tomatoes, which are rich in lycopene (an antioxidant), the oil becomes a real shield for cardiovascular, neurological diseases and aging.

5. Eggs and cheese for better absorption of calcium

Calcium is better absorbed if consumed together with vitamin D. Of course, most of this vitamin is synthesized under the influence of ultraviolet light, so in the summer it will be more useful to enjoy cheese or other cheeses in the sun. In winter, we recommend preparing nutritious and tasty sandwiches with cheese, egg, salmon and lettuce. This combination will give you the optimal amount of both substances.

6. Black pepper and turmeric – anti-inflammatory effect

Black goes well with yellow not only in clothes and interior: it is also relevant for some products. Pepper contains the alkaloid piperine, which has an anticonvulsant and analgesic effect. In combination with turmeric, which is known as an excellent antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent, pepper becomes an excellent assistant in the treatment and healing of wounds, tumor diseases, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, etc.

7. Brussels sprouts and olive oil against vitamin K deficiency

A deficiency of vitamin K, which is found in Brussels sprouts and cauliflower, often causes bleeding gums. This vitamin is a fat-soluble vitamin, so olive oil, the most useful of all vegetable oils, can help it be absorbed.

8. Apples and cocoa – a powerful antioxidant

The flavonol quercetin, found in the skin of a red apple, is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent. Don't let it dissolve in metabolic “upheavals”! In combination with cocoa antioxidants, apples become a good remedy for atherosclerosis.

This pair goes well in a delicious and healthy dessert – chocolate-apple paste: remove the seeds from the apples, twist them in a meat grinder, mix with cocoa and granulated sugar, cook for an hour. Then add butter to the pan, and in 25-30 minutes the dessert will be ready. Put it in jars, cool and store in the refrigerator.
