During the heating period, the air in the apartment becomes drier and warmer. This can negatively affect well-being and the respiratory system. In the bedroom, the optimal air temperature should be from 18 to 22 degrees Celsius, the sleep specialist explained.
“Although these are average data. It all depends on individual thermoregulation,” the specialist said.
The doctor advised sleeping under different blankets if you sleep with your partner, because the individual microclimate may also not coincide. The overall temperature in the room can be regulated using a window.
It is recommended to ventilate before going to bed. The air will become cooler, fresher and cleaner. Additionally, you can use humidifiers that make breathing easier during sleep. Otherwise, you may encounter a cough, runny nose and skin problems.
Another reason for feeling unwell after sleep is the presence of light in the room. At night, the windows should be covered with thick curtains that will not let in street light, and in the room itself, all devices that interfere with falling asleep should be turned off.
