An effective way to reduce eye strain has been proposed

What is the 20-20-20 rule and how can it help relieve eye strain for people who work at a computer?

The 20-20-20 rule was developed by Californian ophthalmologist Jeffrey Anschel as an easy reminder to take breaks and prevent eye strain.

Following this rule, a person takes a 20-second break after 20 minutes of working at a monitor. During your break, focus on an object 20 feet away (a little over 6 meters), which will relax your eye muscles.

Periodic refocusing on distant objects while using a computer reduces eye fatigue, tearing or dryness, and blurred vision.

The American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Ophthalmology recommend this rule as a way to reduce eye strain.
