In Great Britain, scientists from the University of Hertfordshire calculated the number of steps that should be taken per day to improve health. Active walking strengthens the heart, while reducing the risk of developing diabetes.
Researchers found out the daily norm of the number of steps for women. Initially, scientists took into account that 10,000 steps are considered the norm in the world through the pedometer of the Yamasa Clock company, which went on sale in 1965.
This parameter was then transferred to fitness trackers. The mentioned number of steps can be covered in two hours. However, experts have determined that 4,400 steps per day are enough for women, and their physical health will improve. Thanks to such activity, they can also extend their life span.
Experts have found out that every adult takes an average of 2,700 steps a day. At the same time, the physical limit, after which the positive effect of walking on the body stops, is a load of 7,500 steps every day.
