Can sedentary work lead to kidney stones: the doctor explains

Many factors can cause the appearance of stones in various organs, and one of them is inactivity, says a doctor, therapist and cardiologist.

The doctor said in an interview that the trigger for the development of kidney stones, and there is also a stagnant process in other organs that disrupts their normal blood supply and functioning.

“Mechanisms of stone formation are completely different. In particular, it is possible to single out such a mechanism as stasis, i.e. stasis,” said the doctor.

According to the doctor, the stasis phenomenon may be the basis of the appearance of kidney stones (specifically, urine stasis occurs in the body and it crystallizes separate components). Sedentary work and, in general, a largely sedentary lifestyle contribute to pelvic stasis, since corresponding disorders develop in this position of the body – for example, the bladder and ureter are compressed, which impairs blood supply.

Also, inactivity and sedentary work increase the risk of stone formation in the prostate in men and other organs, the cardiologist added. In a person with a lack of movement, the organs responsible for secretion begin to work inactively, lethargically – this slows down their release of substances that thicken, harden and turn into stones.

“With a sedentary lifestyle, stones can form in the pancreas gland, spleen, prostate gland in men,” the expert warned.
