“With a serious lack of protein, a person may have problems with the immune system and reproductive system,” the doctor explains. – Yes, plant foods also contain iron, but it is less easily absorbed than “animal” iron. Therefore, in the case of a long-term refusal of meat, anemia may occur. In addition, plant components such as tannin (abundant in tea and coffee), phytic acid (legumes, nuts and grains) interfere with the absorption of this very necessary element.
