Do you need to add yeast to pizza dough?

Italian pizza has long been part of our kitchen menu. It has taken pride of place on the table during birthday celebrations, picnics in nature, and simply as a delicious dinner with friends.

Details

Housewives have become accustomed to making pizza at home, adapting its filling to the products we are familiar with and have at hand. So, is yeast needed in pizza?

Yes, yeast is needed. Without them, the classic Italian poor man's cake will turn out hard and thin.

To prepare, you will need

  • 2 cups of flour;
  • 5 g of dry yeast;
  • 1/3 tsp. salt;
  • 2 tsp. (without a slide) sugar;
  • 170 ml of water;
  • 2-3 tbsp. olive oil.

How to cook

This recipe is considered classic and is designed for making a pizza with a diameter of 34 cm.

First, you must sift the flour, and then mix it with dry “fast” yeast.

Add salt (finely ground) and sugar to the dry mixture.

Gradually mix the ingredients, then mix warm water with olive oil and pour it into the flour.

Stir and knead until smooth, to make a sticky and soft dough.

To prevent the dough from sticking to your hands, continue to add flour in small portions.

In the end, the dough should be soft, elastic and stretchy.

After that, it should rest in a warm place 30-40 minutes and you can roll out and spread the filling.
