“Baking food in foil can lead to health problems, because it contains hormone-like substances xenoestrogens,” noted a toxicologist.
According to the doctor, these substances from the foil, having penetrated in the human body, can “disguise” themselves as estrogens (female sex hormones) and over time provoke the development of hormonal imbalance. In addition, xenoestrogens that accumulate in the body can affect the processes leading to obesity, problems with the thyroid gland, infertility, cancer.
The expert also reminded that the foil is mainly aluminum. Aluminum particles entering the body can contribute to a number of disorders.
“Aluminum can enter the body and accumulate in internal organs, including the lungs, kidneys, thyroid gland and brain,” the toxicologist listed.
