Hazelgrows in almost any region, takes root well in shaded places, and begins to bear fruit three to four years after planting. The shrub is unpretentious to watering conditions; in extreme heat, it is enough to moisten the soil once a week. It is not necessary to prune the plant, and it is also not necessary to cover it for the winter: the hazel tolerates frosts of minus 40°C.

Dogwood. The fruits of this shrub make delicious jams and compotes. Any varieties are suitable for the garden, but the largest berries are from “Grenader”, “Vydubytsky” and “Volodymyrsky”. Dogwood tolerates drought well and is practically not susceptible to disease.

Seabuckthorn. The plant grows almost anywhere, is frost-resistant and undemanding in care. Additional watering is required only for the first three years of life, but even in this case, it is enough to moisten the shrub once every couple of weeks in the summer. The largest berries are produced by the varieties “Pearl”, “August”, “Azhura”.

Raspberry is great for beginner gardeners. The shrub winters well, does not require frequent watering and tolerates shade well. However, to get a large harvest, it is better to plant bushes in sunny places of the plot.

Experienced gardeners advise planting creeping blackberry varieties, such as “Ruben” and “Waldo”, since they have larger and sweeter fruits. Young seedlings need to be watered once a week, and an adult shrub can already do without watering for one or two months. In the fall, you can prune to remove excess shoots.

Radish. This is one of the easiest vegetables to grow, and you can harvest it several times per season. The first fruits can be harvested as early as three weeks after planting. And as a snack, radishes are simply a great option!
