1. Drink less
Alcohol slowly but surely kills brain cells. The maximum recommended dose is one serving per day for women (the equivalent of a bottle of beer), two for men. But the less, the better!
2. Exercise
This is important for two reasons. Exercise improves the condition of the cardiovascular system and has a beneficial effect on brain function. The recommended training time is at least 2.5 hours per week.
3. Don't smoke
Nicotine addiction is one of the leading causes of mortality. Tobacco increases the risk of heart attack and some types of cancer, and can also lead to a deterioration in cognitive functions.
4. Measure your blood pressure
Regularly increasing blood pressure to 140/90 or more is dangerous.
5. Maintain a healthy weight
According to the WHO, a healthy BMI does not exceed 25. It is also important to eat properly: well-balanced, with plenty of vegetables, fruits, and fish. It is never too late to start a healthy lifestyle!
