0
The level of cholesterol depends on a person's diet. To lower the indicator, it is better to avoid red meat, bakery products and other products. High cholesterol is dangerous, as it increases the risk of heart attack or stroke.
Experts from Harvard Medical School have told what foods should be limited for people with high cholesterol.
Red meat
Beef, pork and lamb are usually rich in saturated fats. And the most fat is found in hamburger patties, ribs, pork chops. It is not necessary to completely abandon meat, but it is better to reduce its consumption. In addition, red meat can be replaced with another, for example, skinless chicken or turkey breast.
Fried dishes
Foods that are deep-fried, such as chicken wings or onion rings, are among the worst in terms of cholesterol. In addition, this method of preparation increases the calorie content of these products.
Meat semi-finished products
Various meat semi-finished products, including sausages and bacon, usually contain a lot of saturated fats. They, in turn, increase the level of cholesterol in the blood. Bacon and sausage made from turkey or chicken contain slightly less fat.
Bakeries
Cookies, cakes and pastries are often prepared using a large amount of butter. Therefore, people with high cholesterol should limit their consumption. Sweets can be replaced with fruits and berries.
