Honey may not be less effective in the fight against SARS than some drugs that are usually used to treat colds. Specialists from Oxford University came to this opinion.

British scientists conducted about 14 experiments, in which 1.5 thousand volunteers became participants. As a result, it turned out that the use of honey reduces the frequency and severity of cough faster than taking medication, writes “Economy Today”.

At the same time, home remedies that contain honey are not always effective for colds. This is due to the fact that some of them are not caused by bacteria, but by viruses. The researchers also warned that honey should not be given to children under one year of age to prevent SARS.
