How experienced summer residents use salt

Experienced summer residents use both mineral and organic fertilizers in their suburban area. In addition, many gardeners know about the benefits of such food products as sugar and milk in the garden. Some waste, including coffee and eggshells, also help increase yields.

However, not all summer residents know about the methods of using such a popular product, which is used daily, as table salt. Experienced gardeners rarely talk about three truly effective ways to use the spice.

Fighting ivy

The appearance of poison ivy in the beds usually ends in an unpleasant consequence – the rapid capture of the beds by this plant. It is also dangerous for humans: when it comes into contact with it, rashes appear on the skin.

However, you can stop the spread of poison ivy without resorting to mechanical removal of weeds. It is enough to water the stems of the plant with a salt-based product. To prepare the mixture, you only need to add a glass of salt to a liter of warm water.

Fighting weeds between paving slabs

The grass that has grown on the tile joints clearly spoils the appearance of the suburban area.

But the problem will be solved if you treat these places with a salt-based product. Two tablespoons of this component should be added to a liter of water. Another ingredient will be needed – about 80 g of table vinegar.

Fighting Ants

These insects are also afraid of salt. Sodium chloride can be used in its pure form, without dissolving it in water.

It is enough to perform a simple action: “salt” the anthill.
