How to cook buckwheat for a special occasion: experienced housewives revealed an unusual way

Buckwheat appears on the table of many on a regular basis, since this cereal is one of the most useful, therefore it occupies a main place in the permanent diet.

To diversify the usual porridge, you can, for example, prepare a full-fledged second course based on cereals for a special occasion or just for lunch or dinner.

What products are needed:

  • a glass of buckwheat and two glasses water;
  • 500 g of minced meat or chicken;
  • 2 onions and 2 carrots;
  • 2 tbsp. spoons of tomato paste;
  • spices and salt to taste;
  • vegetable oil for frying.

How to cook

First, we start with the groats. It is recommended to sort it, rinse it under a “generous” amount of water and dry it. In the meantime, chop the onion, and grate the carrots or cut into cubes, as you prefer.

Fry the vegetables in a heated pan.

After that, add the minced meat, mix and cook over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add tomato paste and spices, bring to a homogeneous state.

Pour water and send the buckwheat to boil. The dish is cooked under the lid for 15 minutes on low heat. After turning off, let the porridge steam for at least 10 minutes and you can serve it.
