How to quickly caramelize an orange on a cake

Caramelized oranges for a cake can be prepared very quickly, in just 15 minutes, and you can decorate the cake or just enjoy it with chocolate. Here is a simple recipe, tested by experience.
Ingredients:
- 2 oranges
- 100 g sugar
- 50 ml water
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice (optional)
Cut the oranges into thin slices, keeping the peel. Remove the pits if desired.
In a frying pan or saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar and water, stirring constantly, until dissolved. Wait until the caramel turns golden (do not overcook, otherwise it will become bitter).
Place the orange slices in the caramel and reduce the heat. Carefully turn them with a spoon or spatula to evenly coat them in the caramel. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side. Add lemon juice (if you want a little tartness), then place the oranges on parchment or a wire rack to harden slightly.
Place the slices on the cake, adding them while still warm for better adhesion or chilled for a more pronounced effect.
