How to water an orchid so that it grows well and blooms magnificently

The Zozulyntaceae family is considered one of the most capricious in the flower world. The plant imposes strict conditions not only on lighting, temperature, fertilizing, but also on watering.

Details

The plant tolerates conditions of slight moisture deficiency more easily than constant overflows, which cause the roots to rot. Therefore, the next watering is carried out no earlier than the soil dries out.

For watering, use water that has been standing for several days or filtered. Ordinary tap water is too hard. The water temperature should be a few degrees higher than room temperature, but not cold.

After transplanting the orchid into a special bark substrate, you need to switch to immersion watering. The usual overhead method is not suitable. If the bark in the pot is too large, it will not have time to be saturated with moisture and the roots will not receive the required amount of liquid. If the substrate, on the contrary, is shallow, then the moisture may be excessive and the roots will rot.

For immersion, use a deep basin or other container. Pour water so that the level is a couple of centimeters below the top edge of the pot.
