Named popular products that lead to high blood pressure

Daily diet plays a big role in people are prone to hypertension, and some popular foods contribute to dangerously high blood pressure levels.

Having high blood pressure can cause serious health problems, including heart attacks and strokes. At the same time, many people may not even know that their blood pressure is elevated, due to the lack of outwardly visible symptoms. The most dangerous thing in such a situation is a sharp increase in the level of pressure, which can cause potentially dangerous conditions for human life. According to doctors from the Mayo Clinic, some popular foods can lead to high blood pressure, increasing the risk of such disorders.

One such food is olives.

“Olives are generally rich in vitamin E and antioxidants, but when it comes to hypertension, their consumption can become dangerous due to the high salt content. Shop olives packaged in cans contain about four to four grams of salt per 100 grams of product,” experts stated.

Doctors emphasize: in order to avoid the risk of hypertension, salt should not be consumed in the amount of more than 6 grams per day, which is equivalent to approximately one teaspoon. Excess salt causes the body to retain excess water, which puts additional pressure on blood vessels. If blood pressure readings are already high, too much salt can raise them even more and affect how blood pressure medications work.

Experts also named other popular high-salt foods that can lead to high blood pressure.< /p>

  • Sauces (one of the saltiest is soy).
  • Condiments (such as mustard and ketchup).
  • Cheese.
  • Bacon and sausage products.
  • Pickling.

“Salt increases not only blood pressure, but also the risk of heart disease, strokes, and dementia. The most difficult thing about this ingredient is that it often hides in everyday food products that do not seem obviously salty – for example, there is a lot of it in bread, frozen products, and semi-finished products, experts warned.
