Everyone knows that peas take a very long time to cook. It even happens that you cook them for 2-3 hours, and they still remain raw. This disaster is easy to fix if you use our advice.
Details
Pour the amount of peas you need into the pan (1-2 cups). Pour boiling water over it, add half a teaspoon of baking soda, cover and leave for 2 hours.
Drain the water, rinse the peas, fill with cold water in a ratio of 1 to 3 and put on the fire. No need to salt.
After 40 minutes, sometimes earlier, the peas will boil and you will get what you wanted: fragrant pea porridge. Don't worry: there is no taste or smell of baking soda.
You can pour fried onions over the porridge, you can eat it with butter or meat – it's your choice!
