Recipe for incredibly delicious crispy pickled cabbage with beets

We share a recipe for delicious pickled cabbage, as our grandmothers once prepared. Read, cook and enjoy.

Ingredients:
1 cabbage weighing (2 kg)
1 beet
garlic, hot pepper to taste
For the marinade:
1 cup of water
1 cup of vinegar
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of oil
2 tbsp. salt
8 black peppercorns
Preparation:
Cut the cabbage into large cubes, and the beet into thin slices. Mix the marinade ingredients and set to cook.
Put the cabbage and beet in layers in a bowl and pour over the hot marinade. Place a plate on top, and a jar of water on top, or anything heavy.
Let it sit at room temperature for a day, and then put it in the refrigerator. If it seems like there is not enough marinade, don't worry, because the cabbage will still release juice. Enjoy!
