Scientists have named the threat of thermally processed food

The consumption of thermally processed food leads to obesity, scientists say. During the experiments, participants ate various culinary dishes, including margarine, and began to gain weight. Then the volunteers switched to unprocessed food, which ultimately helped them lose extra pounds.

Specialists from the US National Institutes of Health invited 20 volunteers to the group, their average age was 31 years. During the first two weeks of the experiment, volunteers received breakfast cereals, muffins, margarine and whole milk with added fiber. The participants in the experiment drank unlimited bottled water. In the next two weeks, they ate unprocessed foods, including berries, fruits, olive oil and Greek yogurts. After the experiment, the volunteers were examined. Scientists found that in the first 14 days, the volunteers gained an average of one kilogram. In the second case, eating an alternative diet, their weight gradually returned to normal.

In a similar experiment conducted in Japan, researchers concluded that regular consumption of rice contributes to normalization of weight and helps to avoid obesity. The volunteers lost weight when they ate at least 150 grams of boiled rice daily.
