Secrets of longevity: one simple product will reduce the risk of death

There is no universal solution to achieving longevity. However, there is a simple product that experts recommend including in the diet of those who want to live longer. This is fish.
An international study conducted by a group of scientists from the University of Wolverhampton (UK), as well as their colleagues from China, the USA and other countries, showed that many elderly people who eat more fish have a reduced risk of death. The results of the work were published in the European Journal of Nutrition.
Scientists studied data on 4,165 participants aged 60 and over, including information about their diet and health status. The average age of the participants in the experiment was 72 years. They were followed for several years.
As the study showed, in those without dementia among the elderly who ate fish at least once a week or less, the risk of death was lower than in those whose diet did not include this product. It was even lower in those who ate fish twice a week or more. People with dementia did not notice such a connection. At the same time, fish consumption, as indicated in another study cited by the scientists, reduces the risk of dementia.
“Fish consumption in old age reduces mortality from all causes in people without dementia,” the researchers conclude. They also advise older people to increase the amount of fish in their diet before they develop dementia – this simple step can prevent the disease and prolong life.
