Siderates will not be of any use if they make these mistakes
1
In the fall, you constantly hear about siderats: “Sow and improve the soil.” In theory, everything is fine, but in fact they may not bring any benefit. The mistakes that summer residents often make are to blame for everything.
What you need to know about growing siderats
The most common siderat mentioned is mustard. However, you should not abuse it. This crop has common pests with cabbage, radish and radish. If you choose green manure, then they should not coincide with garden crops.
Most often, after harvesting, the plants are removed, the soil is dug up and green manure is sown. Experts say that this is a mistake. It is best to add mineral fertilizers to the soil before this, and then sow green manure.
Keep in mind that different green manures have different mowing requirements. Some need to be mowed before flowering, while others can be left to grow until the cold weather. Pay attention to the characteristics of the variety that you plan to use.
