According to the nutritionist, some products better protect against blood clots, among them – oil, cherries, cod liver.

The nutritionist spoke in an interview about products that are useful for reducing the risk of blood clots. They appear as blood clots at the time of tissue damage, and after some time they should dissolve. If such clots are not dissolved, they can grow, and the formation of these large blood clots is associated with dangerous consequences.

“Blood clots can cause big problems, even death,” the specialist warned.

The doctor noted that to protect against blood clots, it is important to be physically active and mobile to the right extent. Long periods of inactivity and sitting on a chair increase the chances of encountering unpleasant complications of thrombosis.

In addition, you should monitor the quality of your diet. The nutritionist reported on the existence of products that are useful for preventing blood clots. One of them is cherries, which contain coumarin, a natural blood thinner. For vascular health, the expert advised eating a handful of cherries every day.

Another good fighter against blood clots is green tea. Drinking it helps block enzymes involved in the formation of blood clots.

It is useful to use oil to protect against thrombosis.

“The most important thing is that it is not refined, but fragrant oil. It contains a lot of antioxidants, including vitamin E, which prevents the production of platelets and, accordingly, the formation of blood clots,” the doctor said.

In addition, the nutritionist believes it is necessary to eat fatty fish. The same herring contains a lot of omega 3 – polyunsaturated fatty acids that prevent the accumulation of blood particles that form blood clots. Another useful product – cod liver – contains heparin, which also has a positive effect on the condition of blood vessels, reducing the risk of their inflammation.
