The doctor advised to pay attention to the first three “bells” of approaching menopause

The gastroenterologist named three early symptoms that indicate the approach of menopause. According to her, you can take control of your female health.

Climax is a natural process of physiological restructuring of the body of a woman from 45 years old (this is the average value, there are exceptions). The period of menopause depends on the characteristics of the body. Complete extinction of reproductive function occurs at the age of 60-65.

Menstrual transition can begin even eight years before menopause, the doctor warns. She notes that there are three first “bells” of his approach:

1. Menstruation delays – first up to one week, then – up to two months or more

2. The duration of menstruation and the amount of secretions are reduced. For example, periods used to last 6 days, but now they last three.

3. Throughout the cycle, the basal temperature does not change, while it usually rises in the middle or in the second half.

“At first, everything happens imperceptibly, and then the first symptoms appear,” the doctor emphasized in her Telegram channel.

Symptoms of menopause:

  • Hot flashes – a sharp feeling of heat in the chest, neck, and face. At the same time, the heartbeat increases and sweating increases.
  • Sweating at night
  • Weight gain, which becomes increasingly difficult to lose
  • Sleep problems
  • Mood swings, nervousness
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Decreased libido
  • Incontinence
  • Deterioration of the condition of the skin, hair, nails, and muscles

What happens to a woman when menopause occurs?

The ovaries decrease in size, their secretory tissue is replaced by connective tissue. Such tissue is unable to synthesize hormones, which stops the development of follicles. The concentration of estrogens drops, which entails the complete cessation of menstruation.

Doctors distinguish between the concepts of “climax” and “menopause.” Menopause is the period before the last menstruation, when estrogen levels gradually decrease, and menopause is the endpoint, when menstruation finally stops.
