The “secret” of using matches in flower pots

Some flower growers can see the following picture in their flower beds: matches are “grown” along with the flowers in the pots.

Details

It turns out that experienced flower growers do this in order to drive away pests such as midges from home vegetation.

Lush, beautifully blooming flowers with a pleasant aroma are the dream of flower growers. But if midges gather in the pots, then there can be no talk of the beauty of the flowers. Experienced florists have been using matches for many years to combat them.

Stick 4 matches with their heads down into the substrate. Step back 3-5 centimeters from the edge of the pot.

The matches are left for several days. At this time, the flowers are watered, the soil is loosened, and the flower is cared for as usual. After 2-3 days, the matches are removed from the ground; there should be no sulfur on them; it goes into the soil.

The sulfur will do its job – there will be no more midges near the flowers, the insects simply cannot stand the smell and taste of this substance. This is a simple way to protect your home flowers from these unpleasant insects.
