Three reasons why summer residents do not leave their garden unattended in winter

You have to work constantly and do something. This is exactly what summer residents think about their garden and vegetable garden. They jokingly say that there is no peace. You have to prepare plantings in the spring, take care of them in the summer, and close the season in the fall. But you can't leave your garden unattended in winter either. Read why later in the article.

What to do in winter

If your plot is not near you, this is not a reason not to visit it. Yes, you need to periodically check the territory. Especially when it snows.

Take a walk around the area. Mice like to make convenient passages and paths under the snow. This improves their access to your plants. Young seedlings are at risk. Your task is to trample the snow around bushes and young trees.

Do not forget that a large amount of snow can break trees. If you grow conifers, they should be especially careful. You need to remove snow from the branches to maintain their integrity. It is doubly dangerous if there is warming and then frost hits again. Ice-covered branches will break even faster.

Feed the birds in your garden. If they know that you have a tasty treat, they will fly in more often and settle in your area. This is great because in the spring they will naturally destroy pests on your site.
