Thyroid cancer: a doctor has determined how to recognize it by voice

In the UK, it has been determined that in some cases it is possible to determine an oncological disease by voice. For example, unexplained hoarseness may indicate thyroid cancer.

This was stated by British medical specialist Jean-Pierre Ginnon. His words are quoted by Express.

“If unexplained hoarseness persists and does not go away within three weeks, you should immediately consult a doctor,” the doctor said.

However, according to him, an ordinary bacterial infection can also lead to unexplained hoarseness. In any case, you need to be careful and monitor your health.

Ghinnon advised paying attention to the following symptoms of thyroid cancer:

  • difficulty swallowing;
  • the appearance of a lump near the larynx;
  • swollen lymph nodes in the neck;
  • difficulty or hoarse breathing.
