What foods kill the pancreas

Few people think about the importance of the pancreas. This organ plays a huge role in the digestive process. As with the stomach, harmful foods and habits can affect the pancreas.

It is this organ that secretes more than 2 liters of gastric juice per day, which contains enzymes that break down proteins, fats and carbohydrates for their further absorption into the body. In addition, the pancreas is responsible for the production of two hormones that regulate blood sugar levels: insulin, if there is a lot of sugar, and glucagon, if there is little sugar.

The most common disease of the pancreas is pancreatitis. This is inflammation of the gland, which interferes with its normal functioning. Nutritionist Alexei Kabanov listed the foods that pose a threat to the health of the pancreas. He put sweet carbonated drinks in first place.

They contain a large amount of sugar, the organ begins to produce large doses of insulin to process the glucose that has entered the body, and over time it exhausts its capabilities. Enzyme insufficiency of the pancreas occurs, and later – type 2 diabetes, the doctor said.

Fatty meat, which contains a large amount of saturated fatty acids, is also harmful to the pancreas. It is not easy to process them, so the organ begins to increase the number of enzymes for the effective digestion of heavy animal food. Regular consumption of cold fatty meat leads to spasm of the pancreatic ducts.

Another enemy of the pancreas is alcohol. Alcohol complicates the work of the digestive system, especially if a large dose of it enters the body. And the simultaneous consumption of alcohol and fatty meat deals a double blow to the pancreas. If you wash all this down with sweet carbonated gas, then sooner or later the internal organ will not cope with such a load.
