A nutritionist talked about which foods are better not to eat for breakfast. According to the specialist, in the morning you need to avoid food and drinks that can harm the delicate gastric mucosa. For example, you can often hear advice about drinking water with lemon in the morning. But in fact, it is categorically not recommended to drink any acidic drinks on an empty stomach, otherwise you can provoke the development of stomach disorders, gas formation, heaviness and nausea.

Smoked and spicy foods, orange juice, water with lemon – all of this should not be consumed after waking up, emphasizes the nutritionist. Neglecting this principle can lead to burns of the esophagus, chronic heartburn.

In addition, the doctor advises not to eat sweets for breakfast. Chocolate in the morning can sharply increase the level of glucose in the blood, and for its utilization it will be necessary to release insulin in the body. High doses of insulin contribute to the development of insulin resistance, and also disrupt the mechanisms of appetite, causing a person to feel hungry soon after eating. According to the nutritionist, by giving up sweets on an empty stomach, you can avoid excess fat on the stomach.

Also, according to the nutritionist, you should not drink coffee on an empty stomach in the morning. After its consumption, the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach is activated, which threatens the development of erosions that can develop into gastritis and ulcers.

The nutritionist stated that the morning diet must necessarily include calcium and protein, the main nutritional components for maintaining health.

“A proper breakfast should consist of complex carbohydrates, preferably porridge with milk, whole grain bread, vegetables, cheese, eggs and lean meat,” the expert said.
