2 types of foods that should not be combined with alcohol

Experts do not recommend using citrus fruits, coffee, hot sauce, tomatoes, sweets, and pickles as snacks for alcohol.

Alcohol can cause a lot of harm to the body, and inappropriate products with which it is combined can make the situation even worse.

Citrus fruits. Alcohol lovers often complain of impaired gastrointestinal tract activity, because the gastric mucosa is the first to be exposed to the toxic effects of alcohol. For this reason, you should not snack on citrus fruits after drinking alcohol – these products contain a lot of acid, which, together with alcohol, can have an extremely negative effect on the state of the digestive organs and “kill” the delicate gastric mucosa.

Coffee. Caffeine acts as a stimulant of the nervous system, while alcohol, on the contrary, slows down all reactions. When drinking coffee in combination with alcohol, a person may inadequately assess the degree of his intoxication and drink more alcoholic beverages, which threatens poisoning. In addition, in symbiosis with alcohol, caffeine negatively affects the pancreas, while increasing the risk of developing pancreatitis.
