3 health “facts” that science has long refuted, but we didn't know

Check if you don't believe them by chance!
Some 150 years ago, doctors seriously believed that without a rigid corset, the internal organs of a woman's body simply would not be able to stay in place and would certainly fall out. Less than 100 years ago, many mental disorders were “treated” by simply cutting off part of the brain. And just 50 years ago, women did not receive timely help for a heart attack, because specific “female” symptoms were simply not taken into account. Do you think we know enough about our bodies and health? Then check to see if you believe these outdated myths!
Vaccinations can cause autism
Many parents refuse to vaccinate their children against dangerous diseases, citing the supposedly proven link between vaccinations and an increased risk of autism. Meanwhile, several truly large meta-studies have already been published, which have confirmed that this is a myth. This year, the results of a meta-study were published, the authors of which studied the results of experiments that assessed the health of more than half a million people over several decades – and they confidently say that vaccination does not affect the risk of developing autism.
If you did not have allergies in childhood, then you never will
Unfortunately, this is not the case. Almost at any age and at any stage of life, intolerance to a particular product can develop, including in a rather severe form. Therefore, if you suddenly notice a reaction to a familiar product, consult a doctor and take tests – and if they are positive, avoid the allergen in the future.
Asthma does not develop in adults
Another sad truth: like allergies, asthma can develop suddenly, in a person who has never suffered from it before. Therefore, it is important to know the early signs of this disease and consult a doctor in time if you suddenly notice these symptoms in yourself or your loved ones.
