Experts from the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) have made a statement that bread and potatoes should be fried until a golden, not brown, crust forms in order to avoid consuming acrylamide, which is formed in thoroughly fried food. Animal studies have shown that acrylamide damages DNA and provokes the development of cancerous tumors.
Nutritionists, in turn, note that fried potatoes contain a large amount of carbohydrates and fat, which is a serious burden on the digestive system. According to experts, it is harmful to eat fried potatoes with foods such as meat, tomatoes, alcohol and bread.
Beef. In combination with meat, fried potatoes will force the body to digest protein, carbohydrates and fat at once – this is a difficult task for digestion, stagnant processes with food retention and fermentation in the intestines may occur.
Tomato. It should be remembered: starch does not go well with acidic foods, as they interfere with its absorption. Eating potatoes with tomatoes can cause indigestion.
Alcohol. Fried potatoes combined with alcohol are a double burden on the kidneys. With this combination, the body retains more fluid in the tissues.
