“Our food choices are important to preventing, treating and even reversing cancer. One of the best foods for fighting cancer are nuts, especially walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, pistachios and Brazil nuts. Nuts contain cancer-fighting polyphenols that strengthen our immune system to fight cancer,” Lee explained. And they also contain healthy omega-3 fatty acids, which can starve cancer by cutting off its blood supply.
The next food to consider is tomatoes, which Dr. Lee describes as a “delicious cancer fighter.”

The doctor pointed to a study that found men who ate two to three cups of cooked tomatoes twice a week had a lower risk of developing prostate cancer decreased by 30 percent. Another cancer-fighting aid is purple potatoes, which contain a natural chemical called anthocyanin. Anthocyanin “kills cancer cells and destroys the dreaded cancer stem cells.”
Last but not least, Dr. Li recommends seafood because meat contains proteins, polysaccharides, and amino acids. They have a powerful antioxidant effect that protects DNA from damage by free radicals.
