The study looked at the relationship between different types of cooked potatoes, including baked, boiled and mashed potatoes. , and hypertension. Three existing studies were analyzed. Four or more servings of potatoes per month increase the risk of hypertension in both men and women. Higher consumption was associated with hypertension for baked, boiled, mashed potatoes, and French fries.
Doctor advised replacing one serving of potatoes a day with “one serving of a non-starchy vegetable” to reduce the risk of developing hypertension.
