4 ways to restore softness to old terry towels

You don't have to get rid of terry towels that have become as hard as sandpaper. There are a few simple ways to restore the towels to their original appearance.

Vinegar

Sometimes towels lose their former softness due to hard water. You can neutralize the effect by rinsing them in water with vinegar. For 10 liters of water, use ½ cup of vinegar.

Vinegar and soda

Take 1 cup of table vinegar and pour it into the liquid detergent compartment of the washing machine. Start the wash cycle at a high temperature without rinsing and spinning. Then add ½ cup of soda to the powder dispenser and repeat the wash cycle, but with rinsing and spinning.

Salt

2 tbsp. l. salt are dissolved in a liter of cold water. Old stiff towels are put there and left for 30-40 minutes. After that, the clothes are thoroughly rinsed, gently squeezed and hung to dry. When ironing, use a steamer.

Mortgage and salt

2 tsp. l. ammonia and 2 tbsp. l. salt are dissolved in 2 liters of cold water. Soak the towel in this solution and leave it for 2 hours. Then rinse and dry everything thoroughly.
