5 common foods to avoid for a healthy heart
0
Heart health depends on heredity only a quarter, and on our lifestyle by three quarters. And every piece of “harmful” food today increases the risk of a heart attack or heart attack in the future. But if some products – even not the healthiest ones – the heart is ready to forgive us, then there are foods that are better to delete from your diet forever. For the sake of our own health and longevity.
Processed meat
Bacon, ham, sausage and hot dogs are common, but unfortunately very dangerous foods. Oncologists and cardiologists unanimously recognize these products as harmful and carcinogenic. It's all about saturated fats, which are abundant in such meat products, as well as sodium, which is used to increase the shelf life of meat. Both are literally deadly for our heart – so it's worth thinking about whether such risks are justified for the sake of momentary pleasure?
Red meat
Do you see a juicy steak with mushrooms or a pork chop? Cardiologists see salt, cholesterol and saturated fats, which literally knock out the heart and blood vessels. It is clear that doctors are not beasts (well, at least most of them) and do not require a complete rejection of red meat: they simply call for reducing its share in the diet to three or four servings per month.
Potato chips and ready-made popcorn
Both can even be good for our hearts, but only on one condition: you prepare these delicacies yourself. And you don't add salt to them. The fact is that almost all of us significantly exceed the safe dose of salt every day, which is why we risk our hearts again and again – unfortunately, in the literal sense of the word. Try to avoid products with hidden salt and reduce its amount in dishes that you prepare yourself.
Diet drinks
Sweet soda and juices (even fresh ones) are dangerous for the heart, because they are essentially a concentrate of sugar, but even worse are the so-called diet drinks that use a sugar substitute. Regular consumption of “zero” drinks seriously increases the risk of heart disease – as well as the risk of cancer and dementia.
Instant noodles
Who among us did not eat instant pasta during school or university years? If we knew how much salt they contain (almost half of the daily allowance), we would probably have given them up then. Do we need any more arguments? Please! Almost all types of instant noodles are deep-fried – and what could be worse for our blood vessels? Try never to eat them again – for your own good!
