The increase in the incidence of cancer is noted all over the world, and doctors are convinced that food plays not the least role in this. Eating certain foods is associated with a particularly high risk of being diagnosed with cancer at some point in your life. Experts draw general attention to five products whose constant presence in the diet can cause cancer.

Red meat. The International Agency for Research on Cancer considers pork or beef to be a “probably carcinogenic” product. People who often eat red meat have a higher risk of developing colon cancer. Specifically, this risk is associated with eating more than 500 grams per week.

Sausage. WHO classifies processed, cured, smoked and salted meat as even more harmful. The daily presence of sausage on the table can be compared to the damage that smoking causes to the body. It is estimated that daily consumption of more than 50 grams of sausage products increases the risk of colon cancer by 18 percent.

Milk.Propensity to cancer due to its consumption is associated with the effect of animal hormones present in milk – in particular, they can be the cause of breast cancer (breast cancer) in women. Men who consume a lot of dairy products are at risk of prostate cancer because of getting too much calcium. Scientists advise them not to consume more than a liter of milk or 140 grams of hard cheese per day.

Sugar. By itself, it does not increase the risk of cancer, but it is indirectly involved in many diseases. First of all, sugar addiction increases the tendency to obesity, which is the third biggest risk factor for cancer. According to the WHO, any overweight person is at increased risk of at least 13 types of cancer.

Alcohol. The more alcohol a person drinks, the more harmful it is – no matter it is wine, beer or strong alcohol. A woman who drinks more than one serving of alcohol (10 grams of alcohol), and a man – more than two servings a day, are exposed to an increased risk of cancer of the oral cavity, esophagus, breast or liver.
