5 types of foods that should not be consumed on an empty stomach

Stomach pain and gastrointestinal diseases can be the result of eating inappropriate foods in the morning on an empty stomach.

Volgograd nutrition experts have named the types of products that should not be consumed on an empty stomach.

Foods that cause acid buildup. Coffee, sweets, canned goods, sausage – all these foods, eaten on an empty stomach, cause active acid production in it. The habit of eating them on an empty stomach can lead to the development of painful spasms, heartburn, gastritis. With already existing gastritis and ulcers, pathological conditions can worsen.

Fruit.Fruits rich in sugar and acids, eaten on an empty stomach, can cause a lot of trouble. A sharp spike in blood sugar and insulin, possible damage to the mucous membrane – this can be achieved by eating an apple or orange on an empty stomach. Experts advise fruit lovers to combine them with cottage cheese, cottage cheese or yogurt. This way you can avoid a sharp increase in glucose, and such a mix gives a feeling of satiety for a long time.

Spicy.Dishes containing a lot of spices are also not suitable for consumption on an empty stomach. According to doctors, spicy food should enter the stomach when its walls are already protected. Dairy products provide such protection for the organ.

Flour desserts and pastries. Ready-made pastries and cakes, which are found in large quantities on store shelves, are made using category E additives. These may include food colorings, emulsifiers, flavorings, stabilizers and acidulants. Even homemade pastries are not immune to the content of such additives, which can be found in dry baking mixes, semi-finished creams, margarine, and so on. Eating these products on an empty stomach can cause exacerbation of gastrointestinal diseases, in particular gastritis.

Crackers, chips, dried fruits. The main problem with such snacks is that they are full of “fast” carbohydrates, which sharply increase blood sugar levels. At the same time, they do not contain vitamins and proteins that would slow down the production of glucose. Rather than eating store-bought cookies or dried fruits on an empty stomach, it is better to eat a sandwich made from a piece of whole grain bread with turkey or chicken.
