6 foods that should be avoided with high cholesterol
Cholesterol is necessary for our body, but if the balance of “good” and “bad” is disturbed, it is worth reviewing the usual diet.
Unfortunately, an elevated cholesterol level does not manifest itself in any way, and the only way to control it is to regularly take blood tests. Also, monitor your diet, as what we eat has the greatest effect on cholesterol levels. We have collected the six most dangerous foods that should be avoided first if you have an elevated level of “bad” cholesterol.
Processed red meat
Red meat is necessary for our health: the cholesterol contained in it is necessary for the creation of new cells, as well as the production of important hormones. But all this is true only for red meat prepared in a safe way. As for products made from processed red meat, many studies have confirmed a direct link between their consumption and increased levels of dangerous cholesterol.
Trans-fats
These are certainly the most dangerous products for our health, which worsen the condition of almost all important organs of our body. Bakery products, desserts and even some types of chocolate – all these products can contain trans fats, which in turn can dramatically increase the level of “bad” cholesterol.

Any foods cooked in deep-fried food should be eaten as little as possible, and it is best to avoid them altogether. The oil used in frying is heated to extremely high temperatures, which leads to chemical reactions that produce trans fats. And trans fats raise cholesterol levels. So no “fries” – for our own benefit.
Light carbohydrates
White rice, white bread, and pasta made from non-durum wheat are the most common examples of light carbohydrates. The more often we eat them, the higher the risk of inflammatory processes, as well as an increase in the level of “bad” cholesterol.
Breakfasts
Muesli and cereals filled with milk is one of the most unhealthy breakfasts you can think of. First, most ready-made breakfasts are made from refined carbohydrates, almost completely devoid of fiber and dietary fiber. Secondly, they often contain a lot of sugar and starch, which increase the risk of heart disease, as well as raise the level of dangerous cholesterol. So only oatmeal!
Sweet carbonated water
A diet with a high sugar content is one of the main reasons for increasing the level of “bad” LDL cholesterol, as well as simultaneously lowering the level of “good” HDL cholesterol. Unfortunately, sugary drinks and fruit juices are the most common cause of persistently elevated blood sugar levels, so it's best not to abuse them. And even better – give up juices and carbonated water altogether.
