Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain, former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi published a new joint photo with his wife Olena on Facebook on August 21.
Zaluzhny left the publication without comment. In the first 20 minutes, the picture collected almost 7 thousand likes.
She chose a gray trouser suit for the public appearance, complementing it with white lace-up shoes. Zaluzhnyi posed in a dark suit, complementing the image with a white shirt and a red tie.
- On February 8, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi dismissed Zaluzhnyi from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, appointing Oleksandr Syrsky instead.
- On May 9, Zelenskyi officially appointed Zaluzhny as Ukraine's ambassador to Great Britain, and before that he dismissed him from military service due to his health. On July 11, Zaluzhny began performing the duties of the ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain.
- Valery and Olena Zaluzhny have two adult daughters. In an interview with Ukrainian journalist Dmytro Komarov, published in the spring of 2023, Zaluzhny admitted that he rarely sees his family.
“My family hardly saw me from the age of 14. I told someone – I don't remember who – but, I'll say who: the commander in chief of the US armed forces. I say: “I went in the summer, in July 2014. He returned three months later for two weeks. Went again. He returned after nine months. They didn't see me, he admitted. – They are, let's say, used to it”.
