A cardiologist warned about the dangers of meat
Meat makes up a large part of the diet of Ukrainians – it is sometimes eaten not once, but several times a day. Many national dishes are prepared from this product. However, the daily consumption of meat has a bad effect on health and longevity, according to a cardiologist.
A portion of meat every day increases the level of fats and cholesterol in the body, the expert said. This can lead to cancer and diabetes. The cardiologist added that the danger lies not only in the meat itself, but also in the side dishes served with it.
For example, white bread, which is saturated with refined carbohydrates. A popular sauce for meat, ketchup, contains a lot of sugar. In addition, meat dishes are often seasoned with a large amount of salt.
The cardiologist noted that it is not necessary to exclude your favorite product forever from your diet. Red meat can be eaten from time to time without harm to health. The doctor advises to limit yourself to, for example, one piece of lean beef once a week.
