Researchers from the University in the English city of Bath asked 29 volunteers to drink strong black coffee an hour after waking up. After that, the participants drank another sweet drink, which had almost as many calories as a plate of cereal or toast with jam.
It turned out that after coffee, the blood sugar level of the subjects increased by 50%. Experts noted that caffeine can prevent muscles from absorbing sugar. With such regular exposure, diabetes and heart diseases can develop.
Doctors say that it is not necessary to give up your favorite drink – you should wait and drink it after breakfast so that there is no caffeine in the body at the time of eating.
