Genetic scientist from Great Britain Tim Spector dispelled three popular myths about healthy eating.
The first of them concerns breakfast. Many say that it cannot be missed in any case. According to Spector, it is still possible.
According to the specialist, fasting lasting more than 12 hours is much more useful. Tim Spector added that it will help to lose extra pounds due to the reduced level of insulin.
The second myth is about the benefits of fish. According to the scientist, it is greatly exaggerated. For example, the effect of omega-3 acids contained in fish on the human brain has not yet been fully studied.
Spector also defended salt. Many scientists call it “white death”, but the Brit says that healthy people do not notice changes in their well-being when increasing or decreasing the amount of salt. And numerous studies do not confirm the risks of strokes or heart attacks due to excessive use of this dietary supplement.
