A healthy drink turned out to be dangerous: what to avoid in arthritis
0
Arthritis is collective designation of diseases that cause joint problems. One of the methods of treatment is therapeutic gymnastics, as well as food control, as some products can provoke inflammation. The list of products prohibited for arthritis includes a drink that many consider useful.
This is fruit juice. The fact is that it contains a large amount of sugars. For example, packaged juices contain a lot of refined sugar, and freshly squeezed juices contain fructose. These sugars provoke the release of proteins in the body, which causes inflammation.
In addition, sugar substitutes can also be harmful. For example, people with arthritis should avoid aspartame and sucralose, which are found in sodas, chewing gum, low-fat dairy products, and sugar-free candy.
What to eat with arthritis
A single diet will not cure arthritis, especially in severe forms. However, with the help of a special diet, the manifestations of the disease can be reduced. For this, the Mediterranean diet is suitable, which includes:
- fruit;
- vegetables;
- nuts;
- beans;
- fish.
Due to the high content of omega-3 in fish, inflammatory processes slow down. Salmon, tuna, sardines, herring, anchovies and scallops are best suited for obtaining a sufficient amount of this substance. Fish oil capsules will also be useful. Studies have shown that their use helps reduce swelling and joint pain.
