A lot of sugar and calories: which coffee is better to drink as rarely as possible, the cardiologist told

Doctors and scientists talk about the benefits of coffee when consumed in moderate quantities. However, the good effect of this morning drink can be negated if you indulge in a lot of fatty and sweet additives. Frappuccino is distinguished by their high content.

Cardiologist Dennis Bruemmer (Dennis Bruemmer) from the Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland Clinic) said that there is basically no reason to worry that coffee, for example, can raise cholesterol levels. There is no cholesterol in coffee beans. “There are certain types of coffee that can cause low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels to be slightly higher. These include coffee in a French press, coffee prepared in Turkish, and espresso,” says the doctor.

At the same time, the expert notes: when coffee is consumed in moderate amounts, its effect on the cholesterol level in the body is very little or none at all. Similarly, adding a little cream and sugar to your coffee is unlikely to have much of an effect on your cholesterol levels.

However, there are coffee drinks that can be very harmful to your health. These include, for example, frappuccino.

“In this case, we are not talking about coffee anymore. We are talking about cream and caramel, products with a high sugar content. This coffee is consumed as a full meal and contains 50 or more grams of sugar. If you take into account the cream and the size of the portion, it is sometimes about 600 kcal – more than a quarter of the daily norm”, explains the cardiologist.

The expert notes: it is permissible to drink a frappuccino occasionally. But by limiting the consumption of such drinks, you will bring great benefits to your health.
