A nutrition expert called the products “traps” for those who are losing weight

Getting rid of excess weight in most cases requires adjusting the diet. However, situations are possible when a person makes his menu from healthy products, but cannot lose weight. Functional nutrition specialist Pippa Campbell compared such products to traps on the way to a normal weight and told what mistakes some people who lose weight make.

If the goal is to lose extra pounds, healthy, but high-calorie products can prevent it from being achieved, Campbell quotes.

Among such “traps” were:

  • avocado;
  • cheese;
  • fatty fish;
  • nuts, including coconut;
  • olive oil;
  • fat yogurt;
  • coconut oil.

These products have a high fat content, which means they are high in calories, Campbell explained. Since weight loss is usually associated with limiting the caloric content of the daily diet, you can afford these products, despite their benefits, only in small quantities. However, some lose weight ignore this point.

The expert also advised to be careful with fruits, as many of them contain a sufficient amount of carbohydrates. According to Campbell, it is better to limit the consumption of fruits to reasonable portions or replace them with berries that have fewer carbohydrates.
