A nutritionist named a product that thins the blood and lowers cholesterol

On the eve of the winter holidays, demand for cinnamon, which is widely used in both cooking and medicine, is increasing. According to the nutritionist, this spice is able to thin the blood and lower cholesterol levels.
In terms of its antioxidant activity, cinnamon is ahead of garlic and oregano, as it contains a much larger amount of cinnamaldehyde – a useful substance that reduces the risk of developing cancer.
“Among other things, it thins the blood, lowers blood pressure and improves blood circulation,” the doctor emphasized. At the same time, the specialist does not recommend adding the spice to dishes for people who suffer from stomach and duodenal ulcers, as well as kidney problems.
The main problem in finding real cinnamon is the fact that this product is often mistaken for cassia. While the more expensive additive has a warm and soft aroma, its “relative” has a more pungent smell.
You can distinguish them by brewing coffee in an espresso machine: if the grounds with the added product are starchy, it's cassia. If the cinnamon spreads out at the bottom along with the sediment, then it's a real Ceylon spice.
