A certain number of eggs during the week helps reduce cholesterol levels in a person's blood. The recommendations were voiced by Chinese nutritionist Li Yuanyuan.
Eggs contain many useful substances, including protein, lecithin, and vitamins. Many people prefer to eat this product for breakfast because it is nutritious. However, recently, the idea that eggs provoke an increase in blood lipid levels has become popular.
In fact, a study conducted within the framework of the China-PAR project demonstrates that including three to six eggs per week in the diet, on the contrary, has a positive effect on cholesterol levels. If you eat more than the specified norm, a negative effect is indeed possible, the nutritionist warned.
The yolk actually contains cholesterol, but it will not provoke negative processes in the body if a person has a normal metabolism. Eggs contain enough monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, as well as DHA, all of which are useful for blood lipids. The product contains betaine, lutein, zeaxanthin and B vitamins, which have a beneficial effect on the functioning of the cardiovascular system.
According to the expert, it is usually enough to eat one egg per day. It is best to eat poached eggs by boiling them in water for 3-5 minutes.
Overcooked or undercooked, they lose a significant portion of their nutrients. It is good to combine the product with plant foods to thus reduce the levels of cholesterol entering the body.
