A nutritionist spoke about the dual effects of coffee on our body

A dietitian-endocrinologist talked about how coffee affects our body. Everything is ambiguous, there are both positive and negative effects.
Coffee is really not as harmful as some people think. Moreover, it can be useful. It has already been proven that coffee reduces the risk of vascular and heart pathologies, helps prevent acquired diabetes, liver cancer and even Parkinson's disease.
“WHO has excluded coffee from the list of potential carcinogens. But it is important to consider that there may be negative effects: sleep disturbance, nervousness, heartburn, palpitations, increased cholesterol with excessive coffee consumption,” says the doctor.
That is, the main thing is to adhere to the dosage and not abuse the amount. A healthy person can safely afford 400 mg of caffeine per day. This is approximately 3-5 cups of coffee.
At the same time, pregnant women need to halve this dose, that is, no more than 200 mg of caffeine per day.
If 3-5 cups of coffee per day is too much for you, you can reduce the dose depending on the needs of your body. You cannot increase it – it threatens with consequences.
Are there any contraindications for drinking coffee? There are. It is not recommended for children and adolescents to drink coffee, to mix caffeine with alcoholic beverages, and it is also better to give up coffee if you have sleep disorders, increased anxiety, and irritability.
Remember that coffee has a diuretic effect, so be careful with coffee before a long trip.
